Hi, I am Dr. Hanns-Georg Klein

Dr. Klein is a prominent figure in the field of genetics and molecular diagnostics, having established one of Germany’s largest laboratories in this domain, the Center of Human Genetics and Laboratory Diagnostics in Martinsried, as well as IMGM Laboratories GmbH. These institutions were acquired by the Medicover Group in 2019.

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare management and mergers and acquisitions, Dr. Klein has been instrumental in launching several healthcare startups. His career began after completing medical school, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the Department of Physiology in Munich and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute in Bethesda, Maryland, where he conducted significant research on the genetics of lipid disorders.

Dr. Klein later joined the Department of Clinical Chemistry in Munich and founded Medigenomix, a company that was subsequently acquired by Eurofins. His contributions to the scientific community include over 130 publications, and he serves as a field editor for the Journal of Laboratory Medicine.

His leadership roles extend beyond his research and entrepreneurial activities. Dr. Klein has been a board member of the German Association of Geneticists and was recently appointed chairman of the advisory board of BioM, Biotech Cluster Management GmbH, by the Bavarian Ministry of Economics.

In 2019, he founded Acmaios GmbH, an investment company specializing in biotech and medtech sectors, further showcasing his dedication to advancing the field of biotechnology.
